Cynthia Archuleta, Vice-President

I started my business career in 1985 working for Southwest Escrow in Albuquerque. I joined Terry White at First Financial Escrow in 1987 and am one of the original staff members for Sunwest Escrow which was founded in 1997. My experience includes extensive knowledge with all aspects of Real Estate Contracts and Individual Retirement Accounts.

Personally, I have two children, one ready to college and one in middle school. I enjoy what I do and consider my responsibilities at Sunwest both my vocation and avocation.

I started working at Sunwest in 2005, during school as an intern as a file clerk and have recently been moved to new account set up for both the IRA department and the Escrow servicing department. I enjoy the new experience this is giving me.

Hello everyone! I’m a native of New Mexico, growing up in the 4 Corners area in northwest New Mexico. I came to Sunwest Trust with 7 years banking experience in addition to working as an event coordinator for a local charity, the New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch, which I proudly support. I earned a bachelor’s degree in University Studies, with a triple concentration of Communications, Sociology and History, from the University of New Mexico. I am a mother of two beautiful children, an active member in my church, an avid sports fan and fashionista all in one.

Lorraine
My name is Lorraine Chavez and I had previously worked for the bank from December 1968 until June of 1987. I then took some time off for about 2 1/2 years. Then in December of 1990, I returned to the bank this time working in the escrow department. I have been married for 40 years to Phil Chavez and have 2 daughters, Felicia & Lynette and a son, Phillip. I also have 7 grandsons and 2 granddaughters whom I have a very close relationship with. I enjoy my job here at Sunwest Trust, especially the interaction I have with both the customers and our staff.

Arthur Dougherty, President

I started my banking career in 1977 after graduating from the University of New Mexico. My banking experience includes lending, both commercial and retail, branch management and finally management of Sunwest Bank's real estate contract department.

With Sunwest Trust CEO Terry White, I helped form Sunwest Escrow in 1997 which became the current company, Sunwest Trust, in 2003.

Personally, I have three grown children and one grand child. I enjoy hiking, biking, travel, and music.

Elisa
A native New Mexican and resident of Albuquerque for 43 years. Worked for Save The Children and The Real Estate book before I started working part-time for Sunwest Trust in February 2008 as an IRA Account Clerk. Interests include volunteer work, personal health (nutrition and exercise), digital photography, interior design and computer technology. Goals are to continue working while contributing to the local community in the process.

I am 19 years old and have been working for Sunwest Trust since September 2007. I was born and raised here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am currently a part-time student at Olympian University of Cosmetology. I also enjoy activities such as dancing, shopping, camping and swimming. I love to spend time with my family any time I get the chance. I really enjoy working for Sunwest Trust and I look forward to working here for years to come.

I am a native New Mexican, married for 35 years and have a son, daughter and grandson, who are my pride and joy. Kids are grown and gone; so my Yorkie “Ginger” keeps me busy at home. My philosophy is to provide personal service to my clients. I have 24 years work experience of which 11 years was in the banking business. I want to use my experience and expertise to meet your needs. My dedication reflects my professional standards and focus on my clients' needs.

Dustin White, Business Development, IRA Specialist

I began working for Sunwest Trust in January of 2007, which happened to be the same month that I got married, moved to Albuquerque and graduated from college. I have degrees from both South Plains College and Texas Tech University. I worked as a bartender and server through much of college, which definitely had a huge influence in developing the people skills that I now apply to my career in the business field. During college I also interned for the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal where I wrote for the Sports and Entertainment sections of the newspaper.

Traveling has always been one of my passions. In fact, I met my wife while living in Seville, Spain during college. My wife, Rebecca and I have been married since January 2007. She shares my love of traveling and we recently spent two weeks in Peru where we traveled through the Amazon rainforest and hiked Machu Pichu. Experiencing these new cultures has opened my eyes to a lot of things and has largely impacted the way that I perceive the world around me.

I’ve been snowboarding and playing soccer for most of my life. I spend most winter weekends snowboarding in New Mexico and southern Colorado and in the summer I play soccer in an “old man league” (that’s what my wife calls it).

Terry White, Chief Executive Officer

I started my business career after getting my degree in Accounting from the University of New Mexico in 1983. My first job was as controller for a local title company and in 1987 I started First Financial Escrow, Inc. Over the years I played a part in several startup companies including First Financial Equities, Inc., First Financial Trust, Inc., First Financial Marketing, Inc. and Asset Ventures, Inc. In 1997 First Financial Escrow, Inc. was able to purchase the escrow accounts from Sunwest Bank and changed its name to Sunwest Escrow. As the market changes Sunwest has grown and changed along with it and today is Sunwest Trust, Inc. Besides my wife, Sheila and my three boys and now one daughter-in-law, Sunwest Trust is my passion and I enjoy coming to work every day to see what will happen next. I have been married 28 years and enjoy fly fishing, motorbike riding and watching my boys play soccer.

I have lived in New Mexico most of my life here in Albuquerque. I came to this company with 21 years of banking experience. I have a bachelor’s degree in University Studies from the University of New Mexico. My husband, of 16 years, and I have been given 3 beautiful children who occupy much of our time. We enjoy attending soccer games as a family and adore our local baseball team, the Isotopes. I am an active member in my church and have done volunteer work in my local community.
