Meet The Sunwest Trust Family
I started my business career after getting my degree in Accounting from the University of New Mexico in 1983. My first job was as a controller for a local title company, and in 1987 I started First Financial Escrow, Inc. Over the years I played a part in several startup companies including First Financial Equities, Inc., First Financial Trust, Inc., First Financial Marketing, Inc. and Asset Ventures, Inc. In 1997 First Financial Escrow, Inc. was able to purchase the escrow accounts from Sunwest Bank and changed its name to Sunwest Escrow. As the market changes, Sunwest has grown and changed along with it. Besides my wife, Sheila, we have three boys, two daughters-in-law, one grandson, another grandson on the way and a future daughter-in-law. Sunwest is my passion, and I enjoy coming to work every day to see what will happen next. I enjoy fly fishing, spending time in Colorado, biking and watching my boys play soccer.
Terry and I were married in 1980, and while he worked hard growing this company, I stayed home and took care of our three boys. In 2011, I started giving birthday parties for CLNKids, a homeless daycare center here in Albuquerque. Over time, my position at Sunwest has evolved into a new position, Director of Charitable Giving. God has blessed Terry and I and our family and company beyond measure, definitely more than we deserve. We have chosen to give back to the community in our own unique way. Through Sunwest, I deliver Starbucks to cancer patients during their chemo treatments, give the parties at the daycare center each month, cook dinners for patients residing at Casa Esperanza, we supply socks and underwear for clients at St. Martins Hospitality Center and most recently we have adopted the elementary school behind our office building to help where there is a need. I am enjoying being a part of the staff.
After graduating from Eldorado High School, I started my business career in 1985 working for a locally owned Escrow Company in Albuquerque. I joined Terry White at First Financial Escrow in 1987 which then became Sunwest Escrow in 1997 and further branched out to Sunwest Trust, Inc. My experience includes extensive knowledge of all aspects of Real Estate Contracts and Individual Retirement Accounts. I enjoy what I do and consider my responsibilities at Sunwest both my vocation and avocation. Personally, I have two children and enjoy spending as much time with them as possible and seeing them grow into adulthood. I have enjoyed the last 30 years here and watching the company grow and look forward to seeing what the future brings to Sunwest.
Born and raised in Albuquerque. After high school, I attended CNM and obtained an Associates of Arts in Psychology. I am currently continuing my education at NM Highlands University for my Bachelors in Social Work. I spend my free time with my son, brothers, and mom. I am very family oriented. I enjoy coming to work every day, and I am happy to be a part of Sunwest Trust.
I was born in Santa Fe and grew up in Albuquerque with my younger brother. I attended Eldorado High School where I discovered a passion for artwork and music. I am also very interested in nutrition and health, and I am pursuing Biology this semester at school. Outside of the office, I enjoy practicing my artwork, cooking vegetarian meals, experiencing new music, and spending time with my amazing husky, Dakota.
I was married in February 2005, my wife Andrea is a native of New Mexico, and we have two children, one boy, and one girl. My family moved to Albuquerque in November 2013. I started work with Sunwest Trust in November 2015. My hobbies include motorcycles, camping, and spending much time as I can with my family. Interesting fact about me, I have resided in Saudi Arabia and Okinawa Japan. Also, I retired from the United States Marine Corps in August 2014.
I was born in Phoenix, Arizona but moved to Albuquerque when I was 2. After high school at Eldorado, where I was active in DECA and played soccer, I attended Arizona State University for my Bachelor’s degree and the University of Phoenix for my Master’s of Business Administration degree. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy crocheting blankets for the Linus Project, a non-profit organization that provides handmade blankets for children in Albuquerque hospitals. I also volunteer at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Animal Humane and tutoring grade school students in Math. Additionally, I volunteer my time with McCall Auctioneer Service by working as a “spotter” at charity events to raise money for various organizations in the city. I have one sister, one half-brother, two beloved nieces, and a mom who depends on me a great deal.
I am a native New Mexican raised in the mountains to the east of Albuquerque. I just recently returned to the land of enchantment, after finishing law school in San Diego, California in 2013. My undergraduate degree is from Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico, focused on marketing and accounting. I had brain cancer and returned to New Mexico to be close to family. I am married to a beautiful artistic woman and have three little girls and one boy. When I am not working, I like to spend my time cooking or in the outdoors hiking, playing sports, or playing with my kids. I am excited to be able to help Sunwest Trust with tax law compliance, and I look forward to growing with these wonderful people.
I was born and raised in Albuquerque and loved every minute of it. I graduated high school from Eldorado and graduated from UNM with a bachelor’s degree in English. For my first two years of college, I worked as a court runner for a local title company. I then spent three years working locally as a marketing manager and graphic designer for the national real estate publication called The Real Estate Book. After graduation, I moved directly to Sunwest Trust. In my off time, I enjoy spending time with my wife as we patiently wait for the arrival of our first child and playing soccer in the summers and snowboarding in winter.
